Holiday Food Drive

by Marc Germanese

The Brampton Beast are set to host a Holiday Food Drive, supported by PepsiCo, that will benefit local charities in the Peel Region.

Being a hockey team in the Peel community, in spite of not being able to play this year, the Brampton Beast appreciate that many people in Peel have a far greater challenge than us, and need help with food necessities,” said Beast President and General Manager Cary Kaplan. “More so than ever in the year of Covid, food drives are vital. We are proud to be able to do our small share and ask you to join us.”

There are numerous options for anyone who is willing to get involved and help out. They have organized curbside drop off events on the following dates at the Beast office at the CAA Centre:

Saturday, December 5th (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

Thursday, December 10th (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

Saturday, December 12th (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

If you are unable to make in person but still want to help, you can click here to donate directly to Regeneration Brampton.

The donation target for this campaign comes from our home arena, the CAA Centre. We’re aiming to gather one item per seat, which would come out to approximately 4200 items between food and drinks.

In the spirit of giving, there will also be rewards handed out for in-person donations on the three December days. Please note that this entire event will be socially distanced and everyone is encourage to wear a mask for the safety of others.

The holidays are a time to come together and do something great. Any donation, big or small, would go a long way in helping someone who is going through a tough time. With that in mind, please do whatever you can to help!
