Hockey Night in Brampton returns to the Centre !

Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews has been named Team Captain for Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton 2025. One of the NHL’s brightest stars, Matthews will headline this year’s charity hockey game, bringing elite talent and unmatched excitement as the city counts down to puck drop, in support of building Brampton’s second hospital.

Matthews, one of the most dominant players in the NHL, continues to be a driving force for the Maple Leafs, having recorded a career-best 69 goals and 107 points in the 2023-24 season. The former Hart Trophy winner and three-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner is widely regarded as one of the best goal scorers of his generation. Known for his elite shot, dynamic offensive and overall complete play, Matthews’ participation adds more star power to this year’s event.

Matthews joins an already stacked and talented lineup that includes Owen Power, Ryan Getzlaf, Curtis Joseph, Mark Giordano, Taylor Raddysh, Darren Raddysh, Travis Barron, Phil Oreskovic, Blayre Turnbull, Renata Fast, Jeremy Roenick, Cody Hodgson, Terry Ryan, Owen Nolan, Ron MacLean and more, along with event hosts Rod Black and Amrit Gill.
